# Mark a participant task as complete

> Records a `TripTaskCompletion` for the authenticated participant. If the task `requires_approval`, the row is saved with `status=completed` (pending leader review); otherwise it auto-promotes to `status=approved`. Tasks gated by an unsatisfied dependency return 422; already-approved tasks return 400. Trip stat caches are invalidated on save.
