# Patch a campaign's default amount and/or frequency

> Lightweight patch for campaign-style program settings — updates only `default_amount` and/or `default_frequency` inside the setting's `program_settings` JSON without touching the rest of the configuration. Restricted to settings whose `program_settings.program_type` is `campaign` or `peer_to_peer` (returns 422 otherwise). The supplied `default_amount` must match one of the values in the setting's existing `transaction_amount` list (returns 422 when not). `default_frequency` must be `one_time`, `recurring`, or empty/null. The caller must own a program that uses this setting (returns 403 otherwise). Flushes the affected programs' caches on save. Requires permission: `manage_programs`.
